The Summer Olympic Games will officially launch in Paris on July 26, 2024 for the first time in 100 years. Summer 2024 will be the third time Paris has hosted the Games. It was in Paris, 1924 when many traditions were established that are still in force today. This summer, The Pierre NY, a Taj Hotel will celebrate the Summer Olympics with a nod to the gastronomic history of Paris.
In honor of this auspicious occasion, The Pierre NY’s Executive Chef/Culinary Director, Michael Mignano has created a special prix-fixe menu for French-inspired Perrine NY. Inspired by the 1924 French Olympic Committee Menu, the three-course menu will feature such revered French delicacies as Soupe de Champignons Marathon, Salade d’Endives le Champion, Coquilles Saint-Jacques Au Saint-Ouen, Filets de Dover Sole Olympiade and Poulet Roti au Miel au Saint-Denis. For dessert, diners can select from L’ile-Saint-Denis Pomme Galette and Paris Gateau au Chocolat.
The culinary history of The Pierre goes back to the 1930’s when renowned French chef and restaurateur, Auguste Escoffier, was brought to the hotel to design and launch the kitchen. His influence is still felt today in the gold standards that are used against everything that is prepared.
Located in the iconic Pierre Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Perrine is a polished yet relentlessly playful beacon of culinary creativity. Under the direction of Executive Chef/Culinary Director, the farm-to-table restaurant is dedicated to keeping all menus seasonal and reducing its carbon footprint by sourcing the best local and regional ingredients.
The prix-fixe 3-course menu will be available for lunch ($48.00) in Perrine beginning July 1, 2024. For reservations at Perrine, call 212 940-8195 or go to https://www.perrinenyc.com/. Perrine is located at 2 East 61st St, NY, NY.
