We were fascinated to find the dynamic Cameron Steiner online on Instagram @cameronrosssteiner. Cameron is an avid collector and authority on all things of beauty and style with a large following on several platforms. His interests range from watches to ashtrays to books and beyond, to practically everything that is fascinating and tells a story and that includes, glassware, silver, well, you name it, any object d’art that catches his fancy.
As we got to know Cameron, we became aware of his incredible eye and dedication to many categories from vintage caviar servers to polo mallets, from native American link bracelets to vintage Vuitton luggage. Nothing is off limits for this passionate and discriminating gentleman.
What truly sets his apart is that he produces a unique and informative podcast called Collectors Gene Radio on Instagram, Spotify, Tik Tok, Apple and Youtube that is highly entertaining and informative and is often a breezy conversation with a noted authority on their area of expertise. We’ve enjoyed his chats with bibliophile Aaron Sigmond, the great rattan dealer Harry Schwartz, Robb Report Editor In Chief Paul Croughton and Bruce Pask, Men’s Fashion Director of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. These talks delve deeper into the motivation for a collector and their often unexpected interest, like napkins, playing cards, Ferraris or cufflinks.

Steiner is like a one man Antiques Road Show, always on the hunt for the unusual or scarce, the rare or simply the well-designed. He loves patina and age, even wear and tear that reveals history can appeal to him.
We like many things about Cam Steiner, especially his attitude on collecting. He believes it’s all about the story behind the item you collect. It needn’t be expensive as long as it has meaning for you. His philosophy is irresistible: “I collect what meets my eye and dive into everything with a fresh heart. If you buy what you like, you can never go wrong.”
