We tasted two excellent wines from Kanzler, a 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and their 2022 Estate Reserve Pinot Noir and we urge you to buy them for the upcoming holidays.

The 2022 Russian River Valley Pinot is uniquely Kanzler and meets their exacting standards: rose petal, nori, Bing cherry and black tea greet you, followed by a briny, succulent freshness. Only 1167 cases of this wine were made, aged in French oak barrels. A lush, round wine with generous mouthfeel and vibrant, juicy red fruit flavors. The wine also features a well-balanced acidity and silky tannins. and a delightful salty, umami-like surge of flavor on the finish. A very good buy at $64 a bottle.

Kanzler 2022 Estate Reserve Pinot Noir is savory and classic, loaded with cherry and raspberry. This wine is beautifully crafted to capture the terroir of Kanzler Estate Vineyard in Sonoma, the family’s 15-acre farm in the Sebastopol Hills. We found it exotic and complex with vivid aromas, rich and fulfilling fruit flavors and a hefty structure. About $88 a bottle and worth every penny.
