JENNY GARRIGUES: A ROMANCE WITH DESIGN: MY LOVE FOR BEAUTY, ART, TRAVEL & CULTURE

We have long admired the very talented, very beautiful and very creative Jenny Garrigues starting the day we met when she was a star high fashion model from London for Jimmy Galanos. Jenny charmed the world on the catwalk flashing her winsome smile, her gracefulness and her reed-slim silhouette and it was obvious she was a talent be reckoned with.

Not one to sit on her laurels as an in-demand international fashion muse, Jenny ultimately set about in Palm Beach to apply her keen sense of style and beauty by launching her own design firm and surprised no one when she quickly emerged as one of America’s top decorators. Today, with a treasure trove of a shop on Peruvian Avenue, Jenny (blazing red mop of hair, keen eyed, crisp adorable Brit accent) travels the world from home bases in New York and Palm Beach sourcing fabulous textiles, hand crafted furniture and rare collectable objects which find their way in her lucky clients’s houses. She has worked with the rich and famous, the titled, the discerning crème de la crème and just plain lovers of good design to bring her exuberant magic to their rooms.

Now Jenny’s dazzling oeuvre has been captured in a splendid book published by Beth  Buckley of benton buckley books. JENNY GARRIGUES: A ROMANCE WITH DESIGN: MY LOVE FOR BEAUTY, ART, TRAVEL & CULTURE is a must for anyone who loves sumptuous decor punctuated by puckish surprises, rooms that glow and glitter, interiors that comfort and caress, spaces made memorable by clever solutions and rare accessories. Jenny’s ideas are limitless and inspiring and we highly recommend this book, sure to uplift your spirits and exceed your expectations.

Jenny’s layered vignettes are full of patina, they pop with colors, they marry the ancient with the primitive and the modern. They beckon with cozy comfort.  But they are not stage sets: they are nourishing rooms that create a quality of life, beauty and nourishment for the soul. Every corner of a Jenny Garrigues room whispers a story and those stories are romantic, unexpected and multicultural.

The patrician Tiffany chairman Walter Hoving once counseled: “There is no such thing as good taste and bad taste; only taste and no taste”. Jenny assuredly has taste…and lots of it. Jenny is unique, a unicorn—thoughtful, kind, full of talent, funny, brave with a razor-sharp intellect; she still cuts a model’s slim grace on any avenue—be it Montaigne, Worth or Fifth. And she well deserves to take her place in the pantheon of top decorators of the 20th and 21st century.

If you’re not lucky enough to know this dynamo, a good deal of glamor from her book, JENNY GARRIGUES: A ROMANCE WITH DESIGN: MY LOVE FOR BEAUTY, ART, TRAVEL & CULTURE is sure to embrace you.
