Santa Barbara’s El Encanto dazzles with Culinary Series

Our favorite Santa Barbara hotel, El Encanto, romantically set high in the wooded hills of the city’s Riviera overlooking the ocean has new owners and they have quickly and deftly put their stamp on excellence.

Especially in the cuisine department. They are dedicated to superior food experiences and their novel series of culinary stars is just an example.

We’re excited about their December 13 dinner event which features Fauna, one of Mexico best restaurants. Fauna, located in the Guadalupe Valley in Baja’s wine country (the “Tuscany of Mexico”), has an amazing reputation with many calling it Mexico’s finest.

David Castro Hussong is the chef at Fauna and he’ll be in Santa Barbara greeting and cooking. Joining him with be David’s wife, Maribel Aldaco Silva, Co-Owner and Pastry Chef of FAUNA. David is heralded for his sense of novelty, intense seasonings and homage to heat and harmony in dishes like abalone dressed with aguachile, impossibly delicious callo de hacha poached in butter and fire-roasted broccoli. Expect extraordinary wines. Courses will be paired with wines of Mexico side by side with local wines curated by Wero Cham.

We can’t wait. And you, too, must visit El Encanto. It’s full of charm, fun and beauty. https://elencanto.com/
