We are convinced all the disturbances in Puerto Vallarta were a one off and that things have returned to normal in this beautiful city. For sure, the cartel was having a tantrum but they were not targeting people, tourists or hotels.

We’ve heard from our favorite hotel the Hacienda San Angel and they confirm that all is well, quiet and safe.
This is actually an ideal time to visit the Hacienda, the most beautiful romantic place we know. Imagine twelve luxuriously appointed suites situated among a verdant oasis of lush gardens dripping with fiery bougainvillea and fragrant jasmine. The Hacienda meticulously pairs Mexican Colonial decor with lavish amenities, and the traditional hacienda atmosphere offers a comfortable yet refined respite. While each suite is distinctly different, all offer air conditioning, spectacular coastal views or private balconies, and a magnificent array of antiques and fine art dating to the 17th Century.

The hotel is nestled high above the cobblestone streets of Puerto Vallarta and overlooks the Cathedral. It is a private place offering a world class dining experience on the roof with Old World service and mariachi music. It’s almost like having your own private villa–a VIP destination of extraordinary quality, not touristy, or with beach-life chaos.
