Handcrafted wine from DeLille: the Lafite Rothschild of Washington State?

DeLille Cellars 25th Vintage 2016 D2 Columbia Valley Red Wine, a complex, elegant and stylish wine from Washington State, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot that sings of red and black fruits, soft tannins, florals and spices. Aging in French oak barrels for 18 months imparts a toasty oak finesse.

This is an extraordinary cuvee with an impressive and inviting abundance of fruit aromas. We caught pomegranate, fresh blueberry and currant. The restrained oak influence dances with the fruit, adding essences of cocoa nibs and cherry cordial. Dense and vibrant on the palate, with a pure fruit core, this wine offers elegant tannin and remarkable integration. Incredibly balanced barrel influence and Cabernet presence supports an extended finish. The equal of any first growth Bordeaux, we assure you. About $45 a bottle and well worth it. http://www.delillecellars.com
