Santa Monica’s Sonoma Wine Garden: the quintessential California dining experience

imagesSonoma Wine Garden offers the quintessential California dining experience, from the gorgeous sprawling outdoor patio evocative of the famous gardens of Wine Country, to breathtaking ocean views and sunsets. Located in the heart of Santa Monica atop the rooftop Dining Deck at Santa Monica Place, Sonoma Wine Garden is a perfect destination for any occasion. Sonoma Wine Garden showcases signature bold Mediterranean flavors with a classic California touch, while honoring the bounty of artisanal and house made ingredients, as well as locally sourced, organic produce. In addition to an extensive selection of California and international wines, Sonoma also features a full bar, where the specialty cocktails emphasize fresh garden ingredients. The main dining room has the ambience of a Sonoma vineyard.

The floor-to-ceiling wine cellar is impressive, and a show-stopping chandelier towers over the center of the room. A fine-dining feel sets the stage for authentic farm-fresh cuisine and the bountiful wine selections. Surrounded by wine case paneled walls, the breeze-kissed Rooftop Garden looks to the West and a picturesque ocean view. Centered around a crackling fireplace, the Garden Patio is surrounded by olive trees and filled with cozy couches, creating an atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. The Sonoma Deck sits above the main level with partial views of the Pacific Ocean. It is nestled among mature olive trees with a commanding view of the entire Wine Garden. With seating for up to 30, this is the perfect location for small to medium-sized dinner events. The area is entirely filled with comfortable couches and has a lounge atmosphere. We enjoyed delicious pizza, salads, pastas, and a properly grilled steak, all served with gusto by a happy team of bright smiling servers.
