MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation invites members and friends for a “Mission to MOXI” party on April 9. Aspiring astronauts will have lots to launch into with space-themed activities throughout the museum. Make a solar system with beads, design + race mini-moon rovers, test flying saucers in the wind columns, make your own felt mission patches or construct constellation string art. Search the museum for hidden clues and check them off your space passport to earn prizes. DJ Gavin Roy will be spinning tunes on the rooftop dancefloor and moonwalk dance contest, guaranteed to rock your world.

The UCSB Experimental Cosmology Group will join in the fun and offer even more engaging activities including an asteroid + crater demonstration and a chance to add to a collaborative mural. (Cosmology is a branch of astronomy that deals with the origin, structure, and space-time relationships of the universe.)

Guests can enjoy out-of-this-world sliders, crostini, and hearty fare from Shalhoob Santa Barbara with nonalcoholic beverages, all included with tickets. Beer, wine, and cosmic cocktails will be available for purchase. Costumes are encouraged, but please leave blasters + other weapons at home.

Tickets are on sale now at moxi.org and at the door. $20 Adults (age 18+), children $15 (ages 2-17). Members save $5 on each ticket, $15 adults, $10 children. Children under 2, FREE. Tickets include food + non-alcoholic beverages. Cosmic cocktails, beer + wine available for purchase (21+).

MOXI will be closing early on April 9 at 1 PM for general admission. All attendees must purchase a ticket to the Mission to MOXI event. MOXI no longer requires masks for guests while visiting the museum. We ask visitors to be vigilant in practicing good hygiene, and to please refrain from visiting if you are ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
