Asleep at the Wheel at Santa Barbara’s Lobero Theatre June 13

Asleep at the Wheel

Asleep at the Wheel will appear at Santa Barbara’s iconic Lobero Theatre Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 PM. Tickets start at $50 and are now available.

In 1974, the band relocated from the Bay Area to Austin after encouragement from Willie Nelson and Doug Sahm, establishing a Texas-rooted identity that has defined their 50-year presence in the state. Led by Ray Benson, the ever-evolving group—now over 100 members strong across its history—continues its tradition of renewal with the 2025 release Riding High In Texas, their 32nd album and first since Half A Hundred Years (2021).

Here’s what is being said about Asleep at the Wheel:
“It’s an invaluable education working with a team that brings a fresh twist to the traditional music that I love and grew up listening to.” – Ian Stewart

“This record features some of the earliest and longest standing band members, as well as some of AATW’s newest members who have never been captured on record!” – Ray Note
