Have you considered Château Lassègue from Saint-Emilion for the holidays?
One of the few American owned estates in Bordeaux, the late Jess Jackson purchased the property in 2003.
We recently familiarized ourselves with this outstanding estate. It is jointly owned by Pierre and Monique Seillan (you may know Pierre’s name, he is also the vigneron for Vérité in Sonoma County and has been awarded 100 point scores thirteen times!) and Jackson Family Wines.
The flagship wine, Lassègue, is a powerful and lush expression of the right bank. Lassègue fruit is sourced from the foothills as opposed to the hillside is an elegantly styled wine known for its big, tannic, full-bodied and concentrated, with a lot of structure, freshness and depth. The fruit is ripe, with its center of black cherries, licorice and espresso bean. Give these wines at least 5 years to come together.
