![]() Seasonal Happenings Cottage Workshops | Monday – Thursday, December 17 – 22 Between Monday – Thursday from December 17 – December 22, El Encanto will host workshops out of its California craftsman-style bungalow, Suite 101. With views overlooking the Pacific, groups of all ages can brush up on holiday crafts. Workshops will entail calligraphy lessons, block print letter pressing, wax seals and wreath-making, for an unforgettable personal touch in gift-giving and timeless fun. Annual Tree Lighting | Thursday, December 1 (5:00 – 7:30 pm) Living Succulents Wreath Making Workshop | Sunday, December 18 to Monday, December 19 (10am – 12pm)The holiday season would not be right without a wreath-making workshop! With instruction by Dawn O’Donnell, guests will be able to make their own wreath and learn about the fascinating history of native succulents in California which can be seen all around the hotel! Elegant Printmaking | Monday, December 19 (3 – 5pm & 6 – 8pm)In partnership with a woman-owned and local paper shop, Ink. Paper.Crafts, guests will immerse themselves in classic block printing, embossing and richly wax seals. This elegant and blissful workshop is sure to elevate your stationery, gifts, and packaging. Holiday Trim Calligraphy Workshop | Saturday, December 17 (10am – 12:30pm) This beginner-friendly calligraphy workshop, hosted by Master Calligrapher, Anne Robin will guide guests on using brush and pointed pens. Guests will enjoy this classic skill and contemporary scripts with swells and hairlines, turning their newfound skill into personalized gift tags and greeting cards. “Olfactory Senses & Hand-Poured Candle Making” Candle Pouring | Wednesday, December 21 to Thursday, December 22 (3 – 5pm & 6 – 8pm) In partnership with KindCraft and LA-based Lait Candles; a small batch and eco-conscious brand, founder Jennifer Rhee will guide guests on an olfactory journey on scent literacy (fragrance families, top, middle, and base notes) and show the art of candle-pouring, inspired by the memories of nature. Guests are welcome to create a custom scent from a curated fragrance library of essential oils to inspire an exclusive candle.
